    Review: Baikal MP-153 Autoloading Shotgun

I've been on a little shopping spree lately and one of my recent purchases has been a Baikal. Having used Sohail's at the range the other day I really liked it, reserved one for myself right there and then. It's an excellent shotgun for the price. I went for the fiber stock version at the suggestion of 12guage earlier in this thread and not only is it rugged it looks fantastic. I likes very much :)

Here's a little Baikal story with pictures.

My 'teeter' decides to check it out.

He realizes what the hell it is and runs for his life !

After I comfort him and let him know he's not dinner, proudly poses for PakGuns members

oh great abbas, yes you called up that very moment and booked one. lovely purchase. i myself decided and returned that one you used; and yesterday got the sealed one as i really liked its finish and operation, wooden one is cool but this one seems bubble too.

    congrats.

Congrats Abbas Bhai.... Nice gun :)
But you didn't mention the price... I got a chance of visiting one dealer
today and saw the wooden one. 50k was quoted for it.

I forgot to appreciate the way you produced the "teetar baikal minisode" and
the star performance by your teetar

Beautiful piece, Abbas Bhai. I am just curious and would like to know chamber size (2.75" or 3") and shell capacity of this shotgun.

@Abbas, i am really impressed with your fibre body baikar i mean Baikal but the two things which i want for sure is

1, the box of ammo which is lying on the ground what ever number it is (coz we here in khi are veryy desperate when it comes to shotgun ammo)
2, teetar (loved it ) have seen it after so many months (ab to main shakal bhee bhool gaya tha)

but, mashallah it is even prettier than i expected
mashallahvery nice and may u have lots and lots and lots of good hunting season with this shotgun.

nice gun Abbas Sahib, now time for details:

    1. How many/which chokes supplied
    2. year of make/model

    Regards.

p.s. do not mess with the gas adjustment valve. do the break-in proceedure as advised in the manual first. infact over do it before adjusting the gas system.

Thanks guys ! I bought it for 50k and the price for both the wooden and fiber ones is the same. It comes with 4 chokes, one installed and three extra. The year of manufacture is 2007. It is 4+1.

@Imu Lolz, Sg/Lg is the only .12 guage available here. I did manage to get 3 boxes of No # 6 though. Next time I come to Karachi we'll shoot em if they survive that long that is ;)

@12Guage. Thanks will do. In a nutshell is there anything specific break in that you recommend ?

@Ilyas. I will pass on your compliments to the little star !

Btw where is our other shotgun guru HassanJamshed ?? I was reading the shotgun pattern thread and it was quite complicated ! I felt a little silly reading that thread as all I do is do is load some rounds, bolt and shoot the crap outta whatever I'm aiming for . Glad to have some guys on board who know the math as well.

A little video about the abuse it can take. I was shocked at what this guy did with his Baikal.

This +1 capacity video is also interesting.

congratz abbas, i hope fiber one is more lighter then the wooden one next time bring it to khi but u need 7 number for range because they are becoming strict day by day, and if you are in khi during the hunting season and imran arranges duck hunt for us then you can really do the stress test of the gun. (provided imran invites us also :D)

Congratulations Abbas. After praise from 12 Gauge & your purchase, MP 153 surely becomes the preferred gun in & around 50k semi-auto shotgun category. To be stamped after your personal reviews of it.

Congrats Abbass, the Baikal has been on my shopping list for a while now ....... I prefer the synthetic version over the wooden one as well :)

This gun will serve you well , just put a couple of hundred rounds though it before you take it out hunting ......

I have hard core hunting buddies who use it with amazing precision , great gun :)
