As some of you know I bought Remington Rand M 1911A1 last month, when I bought this gun, it seriously required detail stripping and the cleaning. Besides this I also wanted to blue the gun so I detailed stripped and put it through a hot and boiling shower and some facial (bluing). Though later on I will be going for a professional bluing but for the time being it all came in gud shape.

Here are the pix, enjoy.

Thanks for sharing, i must say your posts are always informative and entertaining. :)

Just a couple of questions if you don't mind.

1. Which bluing product did you use, i assume you cold blued it.
2. Was the process relatively easy ?
3. Is that a bullet puller in one of the pics or just a rubber mallet ? :)
4. Did you strip the slide as well

@Glocky

Thanks mate,
Answers to ur questions:

1. Which bluing product did you use, i assume you cold blued it. I used Hoppies Gun Bluing Kit
2. Was the process relatively easy ? As I have been detailed stripping 1911s before so it was easy for me. (Though 1st time was tough) :)
3. Is that a bullet puller in one of the pics or just a rubber mallet ? Rubber mallet
4. Did you strip the slide as well? Yes U can see the firing pin, extractor & other slide parts in the coming pix.
