Bought 12 rounds of 9mm Norinco hollow point @ 300/round. Has anyone tried them? What do you think about the price?

Twelve rounds? That is a very odd quantity. Were they in a box? Imported from China? Made or reloaded in Pakistan?

My dealer only had 12 left and yes it came in a yellow box from Norinco China. It is imported.

I'll also send the pictures of the round themselves. They are hollow bullets but without the cuts.

let us know the difference between new and old rounds because a friend at WIL told me that a new plant has been installed in pof for production of 9mm rounds.

P IZ and PIIZ were Common Wealth Standard rounds. Both were initially 115 grain. Though later ones were 124 grain. Berdan primer was used in these rounds. P IZ was low pressure rounds. While P IIZ was high pressure rounds. Powder was smoky.

This is altogether new round. 124 Grain NATO Standard round. It uses Boxer Primer. New powder is developed for this round. Quality is at par with any imported round.

Thanks. Something has come out new from our good old factory. We can expect good performance from this new production and wish best of luck for it. What is the cost? Should be less than the imported and smuggled stuff.

I would not call them hollow point, but rather hollow 'tip.' Since the projectiles dont have the slits of a conventional hollow point, they won't mushroom on impact. I have seen Zol Hollow tips and have used them a lot. I tried them on wet telephone directories. They deformed but did not mushroom.

If my memory serves me correctly, Shafi bhai at Saddar Armoury was offering SnB 9x 19 hollow points for 275 a pop, for a minimum of one box.

I gave the norinco hollow tips back. Bought 2 boxes of zol turkaye ammo at 100/round.

I have been using this ammo in my NP42 Mini and Stoeger for some while and so far haven't had any issues. It is 124 grain though and seems to be a bit hotter than chinese 311.
