.44 Black Powder

This is a Pietta made brass framed .44 black powder 1851 Colt Navy copy. Note, Colt never made a .44 caliber 1851, let alone a brass frame, so this is a strictly fantasy piece.

I bought it broken at a gunshow and still need to braze a crack triggerguard closed, and do a cleaning/refinishing. Extensive dry firing had peened the cylinder, and there were broken springs inside. It now works, it just isn't pretty. By the time I'm done, I could have bought a new gun for less than parts and labor, but I am enjoying restoring it.

Appears to be in pretty good condition now, especially considering its age. Looks just like the revolvers, in the old western movies. Liberal tears do taste the sweetest.

Malik, I agree the tears do sweeten my coffee well, but the revolver is a reproduction from the 1970's LOL
