This is a Pietta made brass framed .44 black powder 1851 Colt Navy copy. Note, Colt never made a .44 caliber 1851, let alone a brass frame, so this is a strictly fantasy piece.
I bought it broken at a gunshow and still need to braze a crack triggerguard closed, and do a cleaning/refinishing. Extensive dry firing had peened the cylinder, and there were broken springs inside. It now works, it just isn't pretty. By the time I'm done, I could have bought a new gun for less than parts and labor, but I am enjoying restoring it.
