    Nice..
Details on first kills distance and rifle would be appreciated.
When does the season begin and what's the limit.

    Hi

Beretta rifle, 0.270W, <50m (I get in real close because I can!), Roe bucks - 1st Apr-31st Oct.
Limit - I presume you mean how many you can shoot? Well that depends very much on the individual doing the managing, the landowner and the holding capacity of the land - I 'manage' the wildlife wherever I am asked to with a flexible plan, so as to reduce/minimise impact (agriculture, forestry, large formal gardens) but ensuring for the future. When asked to 'get rid of them all' I walk away.

Indeed the best conservationist are hunters. Good job!
Isn't 50m awfully close that's practically handgun range. With the .270 you could stretch out to 300-400yards.
So I assume no limit on shooting these is set by the wild life department.
What else do you hunt? And what wildlife is available to hunt.

    Hi

Handguns not permitted unless in a humane dispatch situation.
In my opinion the closer you can get the better a hunter you are - how many hunters can, hand on Koran, say they can competently and consistantly hit a live target at those sort of ranges? Paper targets are a different matter.
There is an obligation to minimise the risk to any live quarry - pain, injury and loss if not found - ethics, even if only rats/fox etc.
There is no Game Department as such in the UK.
Quarry in the main is whatever the landowners/farmers want managing - no birds as requires a shotgun.
