    .22-250 Remington is NPB?

    Assalm o alaykum friends.
i am new to this site.
i am searching weather .22-250 falls in NPB catogry?as it is very high velocity .22 ammo as per wikipedia statement.

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    The
.22-250 Remington is a very high-velocity (capable of reaching over 4000 feet per second), short action, .22 caliber riflecartridge primarily used for varmint hunting and small game hunting, though it finds occasional use on deer.[2] This cartridge is also sometimes known as the .22 Varminter or the .22 Wotkyns Original Swift.[3] Along with the .220 Swift, the .22-250 was one of the high-velocity .22 caliber cartridges that developed a reputation for remote wounding effects known as hydrostatic shock in the late 1930s and early 1940s.[4][5]

if it falls under NPB category then i think this is as much powerful round as .223.

No you cannot have 22-250 on a .22 licence.
But this caliber in semi/bolt will be NPB for sure

but i thing .22-250 is also .22 bore.
and i think licence has nothing to do with size of casing.if i have .22 bore licence the the bullet must be .22.
Correct me if i am wrong.

Finding ammo would be next to impossible even if you find a 22-250 rifle.

I have a Savage 22 Hornet and around 500 rounds of ammo for it. Ammo is atleast 25 years old. Its a fantastic gun but ammo availability and price are the issue. 22 Hornet rounds are rs 150 per round in Peshawar that is if you are lucky enough to find them.
Just go for a 223/556 rifle and enjoy carefree shooting

thanks brother.i am also from Peshawar.
the problem is that 223 licence are PB is KPK as far as i know. I have .22 rifle licence from KPK.
I just want a rifle for home/ self defense which should be accurate, long range and powerful and NPB. i also have a 30 bore licence. but a also want a rifle.
That's why i wanted to know about .22-250 and .22 hornet.

The long range and powerful bullet i have mentioned above is for internal satisfaction that i have a powerful cartage in my rifle for home and self defense.

Members please also comment on NPB categories bores in KPK so i can change the bore in my licence.

Bro if you ask around you still might be able to source out a .222 licence if you use the proper sources. I wouldn't recommend a 22-250 or a hornet. And then most 22-250 and hornets are bolt action. A semi auto shot gun will be more than adequate for home security.

And if you want a long range shooter consider a 7mm BA rifle or .308 BA rifle. Besides I doubt it if you will find a 22-250 rifle.

Brother the 22 lr is a fantastic round for plinking and small game but it's not suitable for home defense. It doesn't have the stopping power with that tiny bullet. A 9mm or 30 pistol should be adequate for SD and home defense. A shotgun will also be suitable.

22 hornet & 22-250 in semi auto are rare birds. 22Hornet K is a wildcat & I have not seen it our side of pond.

I would suggest you to buy a 22 Magnum Adler or HK semi auto (Both will be used) if your only option is 22 license. 22 Magnum from rifle length barrel offers respective energy numbers & these rifles comes with 20 round magazines so you have follow up shots capability.
