@jibz. Great addition to your collection . These antiques look nice if you cold blue them.... I saw a box of 44-40 ( also known as 44wcf ) with sultan(pesh) few months ago. He might still have it .

This was my Winchester 1886 in 45-90 WCF which I sold a year ago. It has the short mag tube which had to be custom ordered from Winchester. Original wood ( way to tell is from the shrinkage that occurs in wood over the years and from patina ). Had it touched up to highlight the patina .
The metal had all markings but had been chemically washed as they do to nearly all antiques here. So I cold blued it and then hand polished it .

I always wanted to have an american lever-action gun. opportunity pops up sometimes but caliber is always a big challenge.
Indeed finding ammo for them is a hassle however, my intention is not to shoot it often; Well, a few times, may be. Thanks for the appreciation dear.

Thanks dear. Yes I saw the ammo with him but I may opt for some other source because his asking prices are insanely high. Unlike the period correct trend, I may not actually Cold Blue it but will do something similar. I am going to polish the wood with BLO after removing the dents and dings etc. For the receiver, buttplate and the cocking lever I will be going ahead with Case Hardening. Now that is something which is proving to be a pain in neck as this particular finish has been forsaken (so to speak) by the Karigar of the new age. Lets see, I will share pics once its done. InshAllah

Very nice rifles of both of you gentlemen, Jibz and Stealth. I myself am a great admirer of the lever action rifles and want to get my hands on one. Any input from fellows would be much appreciated.

    Extraordinary and unique findings.
    The background is also peculiar
    .
You need a display case for these as they have one for the golf balls and such.

Yes Dear, most of it I found in DAK. There is an old timer by the name of Rehan Haji (locally called Raikhon Haji) who has these rounds and I bought these from him. I felt very sorry for him when he said that his sons didn't have an inclination towards his ammo collection and neither did they understand or value the efforts he had put in to collecting these. I met him almost an year back and when I told him that I too am in to Cartridge Collection, he gave me that sarcastic look with a smirk on his face and inquired if I knew anything about cartridge collection. hahaha. He even put me through a test where he asked me about different rounds and their specs. All praise to the Almighty Allah that I passed his test with flying colors hahahhahaha.

What an amazing and extensive collection. I thought 338 Lapua magnum was a relatively modern round but yours looks like it has traveled the world and has many a stories to tell. I also have few vintage rounds (a 100+year old large cookie jar full of pistol and rifle rounds) hiding somewhere (have not been seen in last 5 years including when I moved between houses) but now I might give it another try to find them.
