i am going to buy this air rifle
Gamo SOCOM Extreme Air Rifle
which gives 1650 fps with PBA ammo; 1250 fps w/lead in 0.177
and in .22 1300 fps with pba and 100 with lead pellets
i am confused which version to go for ?
0.177 or .22
i will hunt pigeons rabbits and even bigger game as i have seen medium sized boars being taken down by this gun
thanks

Before you go for it, kindly check it's availability here!

If available, I'd suggest the .22.

As Mr.AK47 said, go for .22 as you mentioned hunting. 1650fps in .177 with PBA pellets will be extremely inaccurate especially at 20 yards+, if the claimed velocity with lead pellets is right, which I believe not (These claimed fps are mostly exaggerated), still 1250fps is more than the speed of sound and the gun will be as inaccurate as with PBAs.
In the .22 cal, energy delivered (ft/lbs) is greater than .177 of the same variant, thus .22 would be a wiser choice. And if you want something durable, robust, powerful and good-looking, RWS 350 magnum is the best contender, I have killed 2 small wild boars with mine.
Looking at the specs, Gamo Socom Extreme seems like a nice air-rifle too, best of luck for the purchase.

SALAM BROTHERS.
Hello everybody this power they say is not accurate. I thing that this airgun is only capable of 16lbs max.the rws 350 is the airgun to have which has more power. SH TARIQ UK.

I think so too. (Plus even if it goes somewhere near 25fpe, it would be stupidly inaccurate in 177 cal specially)
