Makarov is a smallest blowback pistol of largest caliber. Being in love with Makarov, I am starting this insilico club to explore the wonderful caliber i.e. 9x18 mm or 9mm Makarov. Additionally, we can share our experiences and tales of Makarov. Please upload pictures of your Makarov.

what is the price and availability of Mak, and ammo currently ?

The MAKs are considered the weapons of which worth depends upon the availability, because the original MAK are surplus pool of different militaries including Russian, Bulgarian and east German. Usually the Russian (Military Models) MAKs in good conditions can be purchased from 35K to 60K in Lahore. The ammo is abundantly available in LHR. Russian, Chinese, Serbian, American Ammo is easily available in the range of 50-80 Rs. Recently, I found JHP (Hollow Point) Russian bullets for MAKs.

Official Firing Range is Lahore Shooting Club. The Address is 105 Brigade, Shami Road, Lahore. Otherwise you may shoot in all no no-man areas except borders.

Actually that was a stupid decision, just sold the MAK ,but bought nothing, you know those were golden days in 80s :(

we bought the Mak Pm at 11K back in 1994, 80's were by far better than those days. But Ahhh we sold that too in 1998.

Exactly i heard it too but somehow i got it twice on my license both form DCO and MOI.

no handgun is prohibited until unless full auto or larger than .49 calibre as per law.

It was sometimes illegal when USSR was intact because this pistol was a military pistol for USSR army. But after fall of USSR, there has no country been existed on the globe to whom MAK belong to. Moreover in late 1990s, Russian army has switched to Yarygin (9mm Nato) pistol of which commercial model is called as VIKING and is available in Pakistan as legal commercial-imported model. In USA, MAK is now legally allowed for US citizens (again the reason is same; fall of USSR).

AOA, i will be precise. Dont know who made this, where it is made but surly its perfection. 8 years now its with me. regularly take it on range.very good accuracy with in 20m. Imported Ammo never give FTF. FTE. Besides its absolutly beautiful.

here is mine......from the 1990's a bulgarian.....next to my cat f 8 sights(pre-recall, haven't gotten a new one yet)and a romanian tok. nothin fancy or super nice, like some of y'alls......but it's a solid shooter.

Just bought 16 rounds of Russian ammo at the price of rs 100 per round.Bought it from Islamabad.
I was offered a Makarov mag at the price of around 3500 per mag seems v expensive but Makarov Mags suddenly have turned v v hard to find!

Once I saw a 6-7 shot bailkal mak. It looked like a cheap copy of original PM.
