How many of u have ever fired foster type slugs in ur smoothbore shotgun. Is there any one who loads it in their HD shotgun? I am particularly interested in their effective range. So any 1 hunted some deer or big game using a slug?
One slug costs here around 200 Rs. I bought 4 of them when I last visited the market. The brand was Elley. Have never fired one but just curious.

i have fired them twice with baikal mp 153 semiauto cartridges were 3" federal but never fired them at animal you can get 2 inch groups at 50 yards easily with a smooth bore gun and their effective range is more than 150 meters

I used them several times in my Winchester 1300, good for hunting wild bores etc, one shot kill.

Dangerous for home defense, too destructive to the surroundings, hard to control and outright cruel to the person being shot.

After 6+ slugs you will wake up to a sore shoulder the next morning, kicks like a mule.

I use them on wild boar & its a single shot dead drop thing
very useful for big game but & it cant hit accurate after 70 meters

Accuracy depends on whether you are using a Side-by-Side, lower or upper barrel of an Over & Under, or a single barrel shotgun. In traditional guns, slugs would destroy the choke very soon.
