I'm a fan of the GSG 5. It's a great little gun and the way it looks is worth the money, specially the one that comes with the silencer lookalike barrel cover.

.22 generally don't have any practical defense usage but as you said, they are some of the most fun weapons to use. Good on the range, good for Rabbits etc with a scope. A shotgun blows the little things to bits and the smaller pellets become a pain in the backside to get rid off once cleaning the animal.

Bullets are cheap as well. I wonder if the GSG can fire .22 magnums. If it can, those can be lethal.

Someone was telling me the other day that the security detail of the U.S President carry .22 handguns for accuracy. Any comments ?

Guys , I have a GSG-5 . It look amazing and its a fun to shoot it. I often wondered if a .22 was lethal.. and then a friend of mine form the police force told me that the Mossad use .22 for assinations. Then he showed me a skooty.. which he had shot with a .22 to prove a point. the bullet whet through 3 metal plates. And i really dont think that our heads or body can stand that kind of punishment. Well we not be able to put a man down with 1 shot.. but a few could do the trick.. and holding the gsg in your hand ppl would think twice before messing with you :)

Technically whats the difference between the pistol version and rifle version? What barrel length? Prices? They both use the same bullets? Expensive though and the price seems more for the branding and looks rather than performance (compared to the G22 opinions on the forum).
@Saeen If you're selling it for $500 per the price shown in the pic I'll buy TODAY! :)

Cap the basic difference in the pistol and the gun is not only the barrel length but also the butt of the gun. In the pistol version you dont have the butt as you do in the rifle version. Also the barrel in the rifle version is 16 inch rule that some US state have. If you have the weapon with a flash suppressor and a stock it comes into a class 3 weapon (what ever that means) and is illegal in some US state. Probably FP can shed some more light on this.

Price is about 125k .. havent seen the pistol version yet in karachi. Well in lahore its for 95 as mentioned by abbas. Hmm not sure many of us on the forum have used both. I for one found the Gsg handeled it self well. But i cant comment on the G22

National arms is a nice office but there you have to have an appointment to go there call the person there and tell him that you are coming. They have really good stuff and get you guns imported on demand too you can get anything from them by ordering over the net but their prices are high. My cousin was the manager there before and he was like the margin is extremely high and the weapons cost them very low.

OHQ
23-01-2009, 11:50 PM

Hmm not as such but like my cousin told me about the steyr's they were importing costed them approx half the price and he was actually at that time trying to get one for himself at the original cost but then he left the place for some reason.

Striker1
24-01-2009, 12:19 PM
Hmmm. Nat Arms.. If I may clarify.

DOES not sell weapons to civilians at all. Infact they don't even have displays at this office of their's. When I went to IDEAS 2008, saw all the weapons that they are dealing in. Steyr's , Beretta Shotguns, and other items. A very thorough gentleman the owner is who I met at Ideas.
Also this is the place that runs the Academy that I wrote about in other post..

they should charge 50000rs only

VALUABLE or not valuable really depends, whether if we judge it by " Norinco" standards, I guess! Anybody not in favor of this brand, which again is a question of choice, would inevitably get a "hacking" comment from Mr. Balazona. I wonder when he would take us to the courts! We then, perhaps, could take him to HRC for freedom of expression and sue Norinco, which would "fire" him right away!

LOL. I agree with AK47. The way Balazona wrote regarding the caliber of GSG 5 indirectly tells the readers that there might be other cals also available for GSG 5 which as far as we all know isn't the case. I believe AK47 was just mentioning that.

We then, perhaps, could take him to HRC for freedom of expression and sue Norinco, who would "fire" him right away!
From where Norinco came in this thread.this is u who is hacking this thread and this is totally nonsense.and i noticed that u come with such kind of posts when i logout usually.
Perhapse,u r getting assistance to make such kind of useless posts from one of the Banned member.be mature and do something creative plz. I will CONTINUE doing CREATIVE things over here, and I am mature enough to do it! Trust me or not, I RARELY open the index page, that would show who is logged in or OUT. As far as my connexion with BANNED member is concerned, let me put it this way. He was a nice and KNOWLEDGEABLE chap, from whom many of us gained. He never lamented me, I never lamented him. If he lamented you, or ANY other members, senior OR junior, I honestly REGRET it, and you know that well, from my PM to you when you disclosed it on the site. That he was banned is not for me to comment on, but is an executive decision, I do not want to interfere with. I do not have any connexion with him, neither would I MIND to have, if I could, coz my sympathy for you and other affected members is on ONE side, my freedom to choose whom I should have contacts with on the sidelines of this appreciable site, is ANOTHER side and MY personal matter. For the better interest of this venture, I have already suggested we quit this hacky business and as Fp! says, MOVE ON! You won't have any further displeasures from me, in fact, You will enjoy my FULL pre-crisis respect. Just really wish you could have come forward with similar level of comments, yet I have no requirement whatsoever, it would be YOUR decision. My Salam.

i have a question, this GSG-5L looks more like a clone of the HK94 with a fake(?) suppressor on the barrel. what abt the GSG clone for the actual MP5, a website calls it GSG-5A... also, american GSG dealers are selling 1911's clones too, are these 2 products available here? can someone check this with BAKSH ELAHI, their distributors in Pakistan? thanks

must say the gsg5 is a nice looking gun, havent seen or used one myself but the long thread indicates its very nice.
What I dont understand is, are people interested in this gun because of its looks, performance or price. Its a replica of the MP-5 and that seems to be the main attraction.
There should some good video from one of the members and not from utube of this gun in action with different accessories and ammo types.

I'd rate it very high on looks. Price is high should be around 60K in my opinion. I hear the performance may be a bit ammo sensitive.

@FP the cost for the magazine the 22rds one cost about Rs 5200 , last i checked the folding stck was about 12-14K and the scop was again the same price but the mount was expnsive around 18 k .

I have 2 additional magzines 22 cap. but they take about 24 rds

I know the owner of Nat Arms in Karachi, he is an old friend and not the usual gun shop owner type. He does most of his business with the armed forces and other government agencies i.e. FIA, ASF, Police etc ....... He does import arms for civilian use from time to time and is one of the few people (if not only one) in Karachi who imports Beretta products ....... He also represents Styer and CCI amongst others in Pakistan ....... The best thing to do is to call and get an appointment to see him.

He does not run a routine retail outlet so only visit if you have a valid license and intend to purchase ....

Hello Guys,

Most of the Accessories for the GSG5/MP5 discussed in this forum are way too expensive. I can provide many of these accessories at a reasonable price point. i have attached some pictures and prices for your reference. Please note that these items are not available right now.they will need to be imported also i will neeed a respectable order to import them. The price shown includes Shipping customs etc upto Rawalpindi Pakistan. All these items are made in China. the manufacturer claims that these products have been shock tested.

(Rotorcraft be careful, you are posting accessories for the PB weapons which are not allowed as per forum Rules,so your post has been Edited),

I got mine for about 125K, Its a beautiful gun the problem is not with the gun but with accesories. they are very expensive. I went to get a spare magzine for it , the guy was asking for Rs 7500. Ouch .. I agree with a comment made earlier i need another job to carry on with this hobby.

Do you have the gsg with the fake silencer ot the short barrel?
should there be any difference in princing between the 2?

Bad news for you dude...You cannot get the surpressor for your GSG-5 since the one you bought is a short barrel version(First generation)
The secong gen. GSG has a fake surpressor.Sadly you cannot change the barrel or attach the fake surpressor to ur GSG :(
Anyhow you should think about getting some awesome accesories for your gsg since there is a whole lot you can do with ur GSG :)
I wouldnt worry bout that Fake dumb' ol surpressor since it makes ur Gsg-5 look more like a water pipe then a gun.
Start off by attaching a few rails.Change the butt stock, get a retractable or a collapseable butt(easily avilable since MP5 accesories are also compatible). Then get a Reflex sight, please do not go for a scope(.22 has limited range,no use of getting a 4-6x scope!!trust me!!).Then get the tactical grip so you can attach laser sight.Flashlight would be overkill!!
finally get a front handle grip and what you have is a BFG-9000 from Doom 2. :P

Ilyas

(.22 has limited range,no use of getting a 4-6x scope!!trust me!!)
Bro I won't say anything about having or not having a scope on GSG5, but about the range of .22, I think many senior members would most probably disagree with you. Recently an experienced member asked me to always consider .22 a very potent, long range caliber. Someone else later endorsed the statement by saying that .22 is the only caliber whose box comes with the manufacturers' caution about it's effectiveness upto 1.5 miles. I have a box of Federal Game Shok and checked the flip... found the caution "Dangerous upto 1 1/2 mile".

Ka_Khan

Wrong a55KIKA

The second generation GSG is coming in three variants viz-a-viz., the pistol (which madee bought), the rifle (with fake silencer) and the compact pistol (GSG PK).

The ones Elahi Bux have are the second generation ones because I myself inspected them at his shop and know the difference between the two. (Google the difference for learning).

It is a very good purchase. I am myself interested in the pistol version which Madee bought.

MADEE: Google 'Gemtech Suppressor for GSG'. They are offering an adapter as well as the suppressor/silencer for GSG 5 Pistol version which you have. However, I do need to point out that silencers are illegal for civilians.

Secondly, DAAD has the collapsible stock for your gun, but he's asking around 8k for it. PARA in Lahore is giving it for 6k. He's more reasonable.

Moreover, don't get carried away with pimping your gun with too many accessories and modifications. Enjoy it as it is for at least three months. By then, you'll clearly figure out what exactly you need and what you simply do not require.

LASTLY, MANY CONGRATULATIONS. WE'RE WAITING FOR THE PICS

Regarding Range of a .22LR bullet (which the GSG 5 uses):

The .22LR Calliber's range is from 1 to 1.5 mile, depending on the type of load you are using.

The lethal range (based on placement) is generally believed to be from 200 to 300 yards (600 to 900 feet) although there are rare cases of casualties even at range of 400+ yards.

If you check out related YouTube vids, you'll see that with a .22LR caliber, you can hit targets till 400 yards IF you are good at it.

On another note:

The best thing about GSG 5 is its accuracy. The results by even a novice are extra-ordinary at around 100 yards.

Guess I under estimated the .22
It's still hard to believe that such a little cordite charge can charge the bullet up to those ranges :S
Besides, dont you think a 40 grain bullet can deviate from its target at those ranges?(due to wind resistance, gravity etc)

Bro, I have a budget of 100k for this gun. I'm looking at 75k for the gun. Another 10k for ammo and the remaining 15k for as many mags as I can lay my hands on.

Therefore, I just wanted to know how many mags can I buy in 15k.

Salahuddin, am returning this piece back to the dealer, you know why because i have realized that its:
1. its not a practicle weapon.
2. just having looks of MP5 but not in performance wise.
3. what you can do with it 9 inch barrel just 150 m range.
4. you can not have real fun of snipping.

SO WHAT I HAVE THOUGHT OF BUYING IS, .22 magnum rifle, marvelous round, 1.5 mile effective rane, can mount a scope with good magnification, its real good fun of snipping with .22 mag.

so choice is all your, it will just give you a showcase value but you will not enjoy the firing buddy. even .22lr is fun shooting in a long barrel rifle, but not gsg.

@Abu Al Hawl, this is nice to know that you are interested in long range shooting. your new purchse(.22 WMR) surely is more powerful as compared to the .22lr. Unfortunately, this .22wmr is also useless beyond 200M for any serious shooting. For shooting beyond 200M you will need a decent centre fire like .243, .250, .270, 7MM, 7mm Magnum, .308, .30-06.

Two new versions of the GSG have just hit the market. There is an 'enhanced' SD version of the MP5, looks much cooler and a AK47 version as well with red dot sights. Both are excellent. The Ak clone is the best .22 Ak clone I've seen yet.

Salahuddin bro, i did not take it to range, actually i had it from the dealer it was with me for 3 days but it was not put on to my license, as fair deal i dint felt to use it and then return it back so i returned it as it is.
