Thanks all for appreciating and adding to the info. Growing up watching all the WWII movies sparked off the interest in guns (not on the practical side though till now).

Faisal_khan you are absolutely right,m1carbine is still very famous among americans, but here in Pak,its become an obsolete item,no one likes it & dont know much about it,the availability of ammo is also a big problem.

Haider Shah Sb, .30 cal carbine ammo is not easily available in market. If ever found its very expensive like Rs.200,Rs.250 or sometime Rs.300 per bullet. One of my very dear forum member is working on getting bullets at a cheap price so i am waiting till he grabs some bullets.I know that m1carbine are very poplura in Sindh.Absoulety very fine rifle but ammo availablity is hard.At what price you are getting that carbine??
Nice to see the thread coming to life again. Luger P08 in 9x19mm is a wish list item, not sure though of cost or if it will still work with modern ammo. Would be a nice bit of history to collect.
Skeeter60 sir you must have used it - please share your thoughts.

Digging up one of my own old topics (hope that is ok). A nice bit of history on the Luger pistol...

Listen to the description at 0:34 of the way the 9mm caliber cartridge was developed!
And guess what the price of a Luger pistol was in those days (hint: it was expensive!). See 1:53...

Luger is not just a pistol its a PEARL a JEWEL, even in WW II era it was one of the most modified, trusted and reliable pistol not only by infantrymen but also by civilians.
