View Full Version : Review of the KILINC 2000 L

Salaams! As some of you already know, I had been attracted for quite a while to the KILINC 2000 LIGHT model by Sarsilmaz, a 9 mm handgun and clone of the popular CZ-75. :)

Since Abbas himself, just recently, did me one nice and friendly favor of offering himself as "BAKRA", in going for a test of the Akdal Mini 06 on my request, I thought it was about time to "redeem" his gesture and send a fresh breeze of "green leaves" all the way back to Lahore! ;)

Thank you Abbas, and here you are! :)

The KILINC 2000 LIGHT model, acquired just yesterday from Peshawar, with the kind and gracious cooperation of Sir Aquarius bro whom I owe great thanks for locating it up and for a wonderful company yesterday:

And the box:

15+1 shots, a very "solid" feel and very thin profile, just around the profile of the TT-33.

I must say, both Dr. Sb and I yesterday were quite impressed by the rock solid feel of this thing in hands and particularly about the extra-ordinary tight frame to slide fitting, no rattling sounds, no shaking parts whatsoever, one very robust item.

More details later, and a quick review soon, so stay tuned, can't really wait till firing it off, just pray I'm as lucky a "Bakra" as Abbas, prefereably "luckier" even! ;)

P.S @ Mods: Since the model is a relatively new entrant here on PG, I posted a separate thread for it. Mods may transfer it to the New Purchases section, yet I'd request to let is stay here for a while, I'll change the title to a "REVIEW" soon, Inshallah!

@TakenLeader..............For some strange reason or so, I've never been the "Corolla, Nokia, Sony, Glock" stereotype, which is a nice taste anyway, but more traditional and kind of "sure betting" one, you see. Mine is in fact more on the lines of a " Honda, Samsung, LG, Beretta" type you know, and this pursuits me even here on the forum! ;)

Going for the KILINC 2000 was kind of "game", I feel, but I felt there should be a change from the conventional lines, I really hope this thing lives up to my expectations.

I chose it basically due to the design "history", the father being the CZ-75, and as of such I expect the apple to fall just close to the three somewhere, a few meters apart wouldn't matter, pray I do find the apple!

Furthermore, it has by far the BEST "finishing" works, both internally and externally, I've ever seen in Turkish weapons, speaking some careful and classy machining, craftsmanship by Sarsilmaz. :P

All's set up for this eve's review, and the feeling reminds me pretty much of my youth days, playing soccer on a hosts home-ground! ;)

I'd have entered this field with quite a different feeling, being loaded with CZ-999, Stoeger, PT-99, let's see! :)

@Ilyas............Bro, I'm safe this time around! ;)

@Afzal.........Bro, you're most welcome, anytime, in fact, I'd like to see you in Attock too, after Ramazan, a bit cooler weather, I'm psychologically "allergic" to sweating! ;)

@MianTaimur/Dr. Zakir Sb/ Faheem, Iiqbal/ Tomahawk/ SK........Thanks a lot bro's! :)

@takenleader, its not uncoventional for a pakgunner to go for a new weapon, most of us here are gun enthusiast, not a "particular brand enthusiast", thoght we have some of those as well. But we do like to try out new weapons every now and then. and sometimes we do come across a low-end weapon that is a gem, i have a feeling MR sb would be returning to us with a similar range report for this beauty as well.

AK47
11-08-2010, 11:42 PM
O.K guyz, I'm back home and here are the main points.

First of all, let me frankly tell you I'm no target shooter and todays experience was only my 2.nd attempt on a proper target chart, since my practice until now had mainly been torso sized target shooting, that too, occasionally, not as a routine, so I hope you'll judge todays review of the KILINC 2000 L from that perspective, thanks. :)

Overall, let me say, shooting out the Kilinc was one experience of JOY, PLEASURE, SATISFACTION! :)

A total number of 83 shots were fired, with ammo of different brands and types, and there were NO ISSUES, whatsoever, NO FTE's, NO FTF's, just plain shooting all the way. :)

The ammo used :

Chinese Red Box..........Some 33
Chinese White Box...... 30
Russian Wolf...................10
Armscor JHP's................. 10.

The gun simply ate up anything fed into it, even a mag mixed up between Russian Wolf and Chinese Red Box!

As regards the Armscor JHP's, well, I only managed buying 17 few days back, since they were short in the market, and fired 10 of these today ( Didn't have more with me), perhaps not enough for a judgement, but I really put pressure on the gun, in that these 10 were out of the muzzle in less than 5 seconds! No issues! :)

I'll let the pics speak the rest.

The Hardwares:

I had two guns with me, the PT 145 also, but more on that later.

Some brass:

And THE PARTY!

http://s3.postimage.org/S8SXS.jpg (http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=PqS8SXS)

The KILINC 2000 LIGHT satisfied me beyond expectations, and I was amazed to see myself firing this well. I must say it's not only a beautiful gun, but also a good one. The trigger is just right and the "built in" hogue gives one very solid grip to the shooter.

I'm not in a position to say much about the accuracy, coz only an experienced shooter like Gilani Sb would be able to speak on the gun itself, but from the pics above, you can see what an "amateur" could manage to accomplish at least. Apart from the first chart above, shooting in standing position from 40 ft, rest of the firing from 25 ft was done in a sitting position, with a pillow for support, beneath my elbow. I chose this distance simply because I thought it would be best for me to report back on, and also coz I feel this is the most common range of SD situations. :)

There was some PT 145 shooting as well, but I shall post in separate thread shortly. If I manage uploading a short clip on youtube, watch some 5 shots of .45 JHP's into a 6 ltrs water bottle. Hope you enjoyed my amateurish "adventure"! ;)

@Den............Heck, you have an eye for EVERYTHING!

O.K, now, since you're forcing it out of me, the content of the bottle was nothing but plain water, with a spoonful of your Bhaabi's "zarda" color!

I added that to the bottle, wanted a RED color, but got a yellow!

I'll send you a video clip of a bottle being shot at with my PT 145, and you'll see why I added color to it, makes the water coming out very CLEAR! ;)

Regards. Exactly 12 Gauge bro, thanks for the good wishes. :) I deliberately gave it a tough feed of mixed ammo, though I did have 100 rds of the same brand as well.

Second, did pretty much of fast/slow firing within the same mag, so as to give it a bit of shock.

Finally, when loaded with the JHP's, gave it full throttle, all out in below 4-5 seconds, but heck, it just ate em' up! :)

A very fine made pistol it looks AK47.
Loved its thin profile and less jittery controls.
Thumbs up for the range report try to get the best grip of it. Hope it will hit all 15 within No.8 circle on the chart.

@Midreestaj....Thanks bro, the grip is nice and control shall come soon, in a couple of more sessions, I'm sure all 15 will land on the darker nuance, the gun got all the genes for it, rest is my own discrepancy.

I was a treat to be with AK47 and Syed Adeel sahib at their place. I am so grateful for the kind hospitality shown by both of them. Thanks a lot Sir :)

The highlights of our short range session were; I was quite tired after travelling all day, time was around maghrib and light was fast fading out, we only had one target sheet and on top of all, local kids were desperately trying to reach as close to us as possible and we were continuously busy at keeping them away. :( :/

You must have made out that above were not the ideal conditions to range test a gun. But we still did it, thanks to quick arrangements by Syed Adeel sahib. Buy obviously, these results by no means indicate the actual worth of a weapon. However, you would notice that even during these un-congenial circumstances, Klinc 2000 still performed better than many handguns that I have fired so far. In better conditions, I have no doubts in saying that I will shoot far better with this gun.

To start with, I think this is the closest copy of CZ75 that I have seen. Same wonderful grip and sleek profile that has always been the hallmark of CZ75. A very well made gun with nice finish. Has a steel frame which goes the best with the internal slide mechanism of CZ handguns. The gun has a natural pointability, which again has been a characteristic of CZ75. Has hardly any recoil and second shot placement is very quick. Sights are reasonably good, could have been better.

Here is the result. The distance was 20 M and light was miserable. The group in the center is with original POF2Z. The group on the right is with what we thought was a doubtful POF2Z which had a much higher kick than the original one and had a bad smell too. However, this doubtful 2Z was not short on accuracy, as you can see a tight group on the right side.

This gun is as slim as a TT and despite its large size, can be concealed far better than a Stoeger Cougar (the fat baby). NO FTFs or FTEs and boy, this gun is accurate. I am sure in a proper shooting test, this gun would fall in VERY ACCURATE category. :)

Happy shooting with this nice gun, AK sahib.

Thank you Gilani sahib, the pleasure was all mine, Sir, and we're grateful that you took the time out to see us, despite of your very tight schedule, thanks. :)

As regards the Kilinc, thanks for posting a nice review, and yes indeed the lighting/turbulence conditions were anti-test, un-ideal ones, yet the Kilinc delivered amazingly with both fake and genuine POF 2z's, wonderful. :P

May I add, it even delivered excellently on the first warmer shots on the bricks! ;) :P

I'm more content now with this selection, though had long awaited this gun for your approval, yet our MR bro never made it from Karachi and I ultimately went for it on pure "instinct". Great choice I feel, and yes the slim lines are indeed carry ideal. :P

MR bro, the point of aim in both cases was the center of the bull :)

Apalo borther, I did not fully understand your point. Are you talking about reliabilty? In reliability, I found this gun absolutely reliable; no negative obsns so far. Please clarify if there is something else that you wish to ask. :)

Thanks everybody. :)

@Apalo...........Thanks bro, "mithai" anytime you're around. :)

Yet, neither I, nor Gilani Sb, got your point on "meatiness" above, or having to be careful!

If you're talking about the stainless matte finish, well, nothing to be careful about, it's very smooth and beautiful, even the CZ-75 new comes in this finishing,

In reliability department, the gun is now +110 rounds old, NIL ISSUES!

Minimum 6-7 different kinds of ammo fed, even 2Z, JHP's and so on, not a single hiccup, whatsoever. Regards. :)

Congratulations AK bro,
I think Apolo mean "maintenance" if look into the context he is talking in. Otherwise no idea.
