View Full Version : A Unique SxS Shotgun in My Possession

08-07-2010, 03:48 PM
i remember when i was about 15 years old
while hunting my dad always gave me an empty gun
from which i used to practice to mount a gun and dry fire at partridges or ducks etc
i used to pretent to shoot the hunt.
one day on partridge hunting in Raheem Yar Khan
one of my dad's Course Mate tells him to give me a cartridge.
he said he's old enough , he's been dry firing for so long
give the kid a cartridge.

i can still remember my dad giving me my first cartridge
the smile on my face, and my dad telling me,
its not easy to hit flying shots son.

and i said
i will
and he replies
"ok if u hit a flying target ill get u your own shotgun"

cutting the long story shorter
i hit flying targets all day day long.
some targets which even others missed and i got them.

dad was proud and he took me to an arms shop in RYK
there while looking at different guns
a man walks in with this gun your about to see.
and he says he wants to sell it
for 35k
the owner of the shop said no
and there i came in a told dad i like it
the man was an engineer who built raods in the desert for the saikh's
this gun was gifted to him by them
he knew nothing about the gun
or guns for that matter
we bought it for 25k from him.

my gun
my first shotgun

can anyone tell me which gun this is?
does anyone else have it in Pakistan?
has anyone ever seen such a shotgun before?

after buying this gun
as it was my 25k cheap gun
it used to be laying around in my dad's jeep
no proper cover
i started searching for the gun make
once i found them and contacted them they asked me to send them digital pics of the gun
i did
and once they told me the worth of the gun and that it is only custom made etc etc
its not even used that much anymore.

hope u like the gun
and i so hope im the only one in Pakistan that has it.

This SxS is a real beauty. You must be so proud to have in in your possession, Hamza Bro!

Is it a French or Italian brand? 'Cuz a basic search on Google didn't turn up any useful links..

Anyway, if this beauty shoots as well as it looks... it's a true treasure worth treasuring... :)

I had the privilege to handle Charlin slide shot Gun at Cabalo’s show room but not for sale. Charlin made three grades of such gun pre war. Then it had 123 and 4 sparrow engraved. The sparrows indicated the grade of the gun. After war Charlin continue to produce these guns but on orders. Later guns were replaced by all kind of engraving, ducks, pigeons, pheasants etc. I am no expert about guns but when I see one I know its worth. This gun will fetch about $100,000 on the market. This is a golden grade.
The gun I saw was not that beautiful as yours. This is custom made gun for some VIP who did n’t know what its worth. Lucky you……………..Circa 1950, I presume. Congratulation.

Almost all darne's were imported by my father as we were the sole importers of darne guns france. our outlet was in Abbottabad in 1960s. I was a kid at that time. We still have 2 custom made Darne's in our family in great condition.

looks nice....the intricate work on the barrel adds a nice touch.

30-01-2013, 02:10 PM
Nice gun bro , although i have seen your gun on TGF , a member named Bilal claims that he also owns one in your thread but that person was a ...... , he also made his account on pg and was soon banned .
The truth is that there are only two pieces in whole pakistan , one is with you and one is with me.
The name is charlin automatique , 30''.
Lighter than my BSA sbs
Has a really low recoil.
Stock is as good as it gets.
Really love it but there is one problem , my cousin is after it , he says he will buy me a beretta if i give him the gun but i give a DAMN to Beretta in front of this gun.
When i was in Di-Khan almost 4-5 yrs old some Waderas and Noteables of the area came to my father and grand father and asked for this gun in exchange of land but they refused , i still cannot believe how lucky i am.
Will post pics today.
