Hi guys,
Share ur Norinco pistol's pictures and ur experience with them here.
i am a Norinco firearms die hard fan myself.as u all know i have 2 Norinco made pistols with me now.CF-98 9mm and NZ-85B 9mm pistol.i like both of them.they r very robustly made and very reliable.i have had a Norinco TT-33 which i sold.that was a Ak-47 of Norinco pistols.

I will join the club. I have NORINCO's TT. It is silver in color and has never failed me. The only down side it that it is fairly old in design and no decocker or safety. That said, if it carried over 10 rounds it would be a top contender for my CCW.

Firepower,Welcome to the club.

I wouldnt categorize my self as die hard fan, but i have only one piece and that is Norinco CF-98 9mm. Quite reliable so far, yet to take it to the the range for extensive testing !!

Firepower!
12-02-2009, 01:04 PM
On all most all of the Chinese TT's I see over the net have safety feature. However, I have not seen them in Pakistan. Whats up with that? Are they in fact being manufactured in Karachi as many have suggested to me? This explains why some folks even sell brand new ones for 16/17K as well. Here is a net picture:

To me it is more like one to have in collection since it is part of history and perhaps most popular gun in Pakistan. Its the only Chinese handgun I will ever buy.

Balazona
12-02-2009, 01:11 PM
Firepower, the model u mentioned here it is called type 54-1.it has a so called saftey which is not good to carry one in the chamber.type 54-1 made for american market for their strict saftey laws.but at last Norinco was banned in USA in Clinton government.

Firepower!
12-02-2009, 01:16 PM
I see. Glad thats cleared since I was going to look for one with a lock since I carry with one in pipe.

Ahmad
12-02-2009, 01:25 PM
Count me in i have t213 9mm basically a varient of tt. It has a lousy safety which works in revere order of colt. Very rugged and reliable

Balazona
12-02-2009, 01:28 PM
Ahmad,u r right Norinco TT's so called safter works in opposite direction.

Firepower!
12-02-2009, 01:30 PM
opposite or not, I want one to replace the one I have.

Balazona
12-02-2009, 01:36 PM
but that pathetic saftey of type 54-1 is not good enough while round in the pipe.it doesnt have good reputations on diferent forums.

Ahmad
12-02-2009, 01:59 PM
It only blocks trigger not good for carrying one in pipe

I am in with a Norinco CF98

Acciprone
12-02-2009, 06:25 PM
Like i said in some of the other threads my first weapon was the cf98 .. loved the balance and the feel of the weapon .. gave it to my brother.I think in all the time i had fired more than 500 Rds no fte, ftf nothing .... I will be in the market for a np34 once the licences come into play again.

Balazona
12-02-2009, 08:01 PM
Acciprone, what is price of NP34 pistol in Karachi?BTW nice choice for CCW.

I had the norinco tt 30 caliber. I miss the power of the caliber and also the reliability of the gun so thinking of buying one again

Osam,u did the same mistake which i did.but nowadays they r very costly.

Yes i know that they are short in supply but once the stock arrives we will get them at the rates we sold them so lets hope for the best.

Acciprone
12-02-2009, 08:17 PM
last i checked the 34 was for 48K.. but i think ill try to get it down a bit. and well that is one of the reason , ccw for me to get it .. 2nd man i just like the way it looks .. did fire the np22 which is a lot similar to it.. i love the feel of it..

Balazona
12-02-2009, 08:29 PM
Actually i didnt see it in Lahore market.here is NP-22 availble at 40K.but i will still prefer NP-42/CF-98 for CCW.its grip is slimer than NP-22/34 and weight is just 760g with an empty mag.

Acciprone
12-02-2009, 08:32 PM

I was at the range today and saw a guy shooting his tt .30 chinese. It was in silver colour and with external saftey for locked and loaded purpose. He bought it for 29k(didnt ask the dealers info) and the model was 766.

Balazona
19-02-2009, 01:57 PM
That model with an external saftey is called Type 54-1.but that saftey is not reliable for cocked and locked purpose.

Osam
19-02-2009, 02:11 PM
I dont know about the type 54-1 but it was external safety as in like a makarov if youve seen one. The hammer was another safety option. Ive never seen such a model in a tt hence the one i bought was a 636 and this one was a 766.

Balazona
19-02-2009, 02:21 PM
Osam, those models Type 54-1 were for US export.they r very rare in Pakistan.

Osam
19-02-2009, 02:38 PM
Yes you are right i searched the net for type 54-1 and they are the same but i saw one that means they are available under the model 766.

Balazona
19-02-2009, 02:42 PM

I have both CF98 and NP34. They are good and can handle any type of ammo including MP5 rds with more grain. However I found NP34 more accurate despite its smaller size (colone of Sig P229) . Only aspect worth mentioning of NP34 is that it carries 13+1 while CF 98 can take 15+1. NP 34 is made by Norinco for export only while CF98 is currently used by Peoples Liberation Army and Hong Kong Police

THe Grips of NP22,Np-34 are alloy frame (Aluminium). I've seen a Norinco Np-34, Colour seemd to be rapidly changed from metallic black to blish green, specially over trigger-gaurd and main frame. The person bought both at the same time 6-months back and complaining to the dealer for color change of NP-34. However NP-22 looked same as brand new, both equally used (cariied and fired).

someone said this on the statement that tt is an ak of handguns lol.

The Tokarev pistol is truly the 'jeep' of handguns: extremely rugged, reliable under adverse conditions, inexpensive, and powerful (especially in its original 7.62x25mm calibre), our forged steel Norinco T33 series handguns are also priced low enough to fit almost every shooter's budget. From WWII and Cold War history buffs to collectors, re-enactors, and casual target shooters, there's room for one or more of these practical, attractively-priced pistols in nearly everyone's collection!

AoA, well it was easy to handle, grip was comfortable. the firing range was of a para-military organization. the range was around approx 75 meters but definitely more then 50 meters. next time will find out the exact figure. :) . Fired around 70 rounds in less then 20 mins. Worked perfectly, no held-ups. And its fire was pretty powerful, and accurate. The target was pretty small at more then 50 meters, but nearly all the shots were pretty accurate. Some landed at the target while some pretty close. In my opinion, its a good weapon to have. A good choice in this price range, specially for personal defence.

taimikhan

I think the new CF98 are nearly equal to NP-42, just a 2000 rounds barrel life difference. The mechanism is same. CF98 is being made by Chang Feng Machinery Tools Co Ltd, a sub-company of Norinco. The change in designation and manufacturing company was due to the ban on Norinco items by USA & Canada. So it was re-introduced as CF98. This chang Feng company is also manufacturing other sub-machine guns.

Hi friends,

Yesterday I went to the range and fired my Taurus PT-111 for the first time. I fired 30 rounds with no jams and only 1 misfire, may be because of the defective round (9mm chinese).

The gun shoots well, however I am not comfortable with the recoil. I believe that this recoil problem is due to the small barrel size (3.25 inches).

I need your recommendations regarding recoil of Norince guns in 9mm. I am considering buying one more gun for SD, range shooting and CCW and I want a reliable and pleasent to shoot weapon.

Thanks.

AOA Guys,

Well check out the below link which might help you in making your decision about CF98.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15qsJgnm0sw

As far as NP-42 is concerned it would be very difficult to find nowadays as CF98 is more in the market due to the transfer of manufacturing to Chang Feng Machinery Tools from where it gets its designation as CF. By the way Chang Feng is working under NORINCO.

As for my experience, i fired 50 rounds in about 20 mins from my CF98, without any jam or misfire, fired at a range of more then 50 meters, having pretty accurate results. Recoil is minimum as you can see in the video, but if you loosen your grip then it will definitely give a big recoil, which you guys can also see in the video as i did loosen my grip a few times.

Its a robust weapon which can fire any type of bullet be it chinese, russian 9mm luger, POF or american. It can fire even DAP rounds.

Guys do keep in mind that CF98 or NP42 has become the standard weapon of the Chinese Army, Police, Hong Kong Police and also as Type-92 of Bangladesh Army, which would mean that this is a pretty good & reliable weapon good as Chinese don't induct average weapons. The chinese TT is a good example in front of you, which has been in service for decades now and is like by nearly everyone as its a strong and reliable weapon. And today's CF98 are 8000 round barrel life which is more then enough for ppl who wish to keep it as a SD weapon.

CF98 in Peshawar is for 35K nowadays. The one i bought has CF98-9mm written on it with a Shaheen Logo.

I had pasted the image on some of the CF98 related forums.

Would like to have your guys feed back also.

Thx

Hi,

Yesterday I went to Saddar had a look at Cf 98. The gun seems strong and well balanced. I have decided to buy it. The vendor has quoted me Rs. 36K final. If you think that the prices will fall, should I wait. BTW how much do you think the prices will reduce?

If the supply increases, then I believe, there is a possibility of decrease in prices of other models also.

Under this scenario, what other model will serve my purpose best?. My budget is under 40K.

Thanks.

Regards,

Which is better, NP34 or CF98?

I have checked on Norinco site. CF98 has longer barrel, hence maybe less recoil. However, only those who have used both firearms can tell the difference.

Also, please advice which weapon among the two is pleasent to shoot and easier to maintain.

CF-98 wins hands down in your case. NP-34 is louder and and has more kick. Compared to other Np-34 is more difficult to shoot accurately. Osam can get u in 34k or max 35k from Ammar and Co.

As per your info, new supply of chinese weapons is hitting the market soon. If this be the case, then should I wait for sometime to get a good bargain or should acquire one b/w 35 to 36K?

Dear a single stack mag is the one which has a single column of bullets, stacked on one another in a single column, thus a mag will only contain number of bullets which can be accomodated as per the length of a magazine..
double stack mag is the one where there are dual rows of bullets, bullets are set over each other in a zigzag manner thus taking benefit of a total width + total length of the mag. This leads to higher capacity.

salam all ; i found one thing a little bit intresting about HP77b , the gun is Norinco product and a Sig inspired more like NP22, but HP77b is not marketed in USA or Canada like NP22 or other NP series guns are done, and NP series is very popular over there.

Actually "Norinco" is banned in USA as in the past, the company was accused of supplying weapons illegally to the US market... But no such restriction in the Canadian market...

Excellent 1911's. Their triggers can be a bit stiff, but that's an easy fix. Great steel and lots of features, depending on model. The factory mags are usually crap, but quality 1911 mags are cheap now. Definitely a good buy.

I have no experience nor interest in any 1911 that isnt a single stacked 45. That's the way it was meant to be, and the way it should always be, as far as I'm concerned. Nor will I ever have a 1911 with rails, or an external extractor, but maybe I'm just old fashioned...

Dear have you handled it? Is similarity is only of looks, or otherwise gun is same as np22 in metallurgy, quality etc? I wonder why Chinese has made a new gun if if its completely same as of NP22...
Just for 2 extra rounds..?. Na... don't think so...

Bro I donno much about TTs but I bought one in 1995 & its serial# also starts from 310xxxxxx, but it has large serrations on slide and the slide is also stamped with "Made in China by Norinco" on its left side.. there is 11 within a circle stamed on top of slide and the barrel is not black but SS.. so what can you say about it ??

Although I fired numerous numbers of rounds through it without a single issue.. now its my car gun loaded with Prvi JHP.

So, how many JHPs in htis calibre available up country?

I have seen the Serbian ones only once. They belonged to the personal weapon of the dealer and were not for sale.

I belive he had 3 rounds or so.

I have seen only Serbian Prvi, JHP (PPU) so far.. have 100 rounds of these and before that to check its compatibility with my TT, used 30-35 rounds.. they are excellent rounds no doubt.
