WaS,
You can get pistol oil from most firearm shops. The best oil I have used is Berettas company made oil for their pistols. But dont use to much.. You could actually use any 'gun' oil, just be careful of local gun oil as they can have polutants mixed in which could damage your gun.

Use Pakguns Lubricant. here is the formula:
Phase 1 oil
1. two parts dexron II/III ATF (ZIC ATF-Red plastic bottle)
2. one part synthetic motor oil (ZIC XQ 5W40)
now call this mixture wonder lube
to make Pakguns Lubricant
1. two parts Phase 1 oil
2. one part kerosene
the resulting oil will now have exactly: 44.44% DEXRON II/III ATF, 22.22% synthetic motoroil, 33.33% kerosene oil.
the lubricant has been discussed in detail at: http://www.pakguns.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1189

Yes you can.. but not recommended..
Use it if nothing else is available.. and sometimes there are fake cans which are filled with nothing but kerosene oil.. but they work just as well as the regular one...

The PakGuns oil is great ofcouse :) but for a mass market product nothing is better than Hoppes No 9. I love the stuff and buy the largest size I can get.

ASA brothers
while lubricating our weapons we usually use high quality gun oil, what i want to clear is that is a high quality grease can work better rather then oil. because i think the reason to use grease instead of oil is because grease stays where you put it dosn't rip off or leak off dosn't get into your holestor. where as the oil might seapoff into your holestor or your pants or left stains on your cloths.
i think grease is a lot better then oil........... whats your valuable comments on that? plz share.

As i learnt from 'guru 12gauge', that Oil is for fast moving parts and grease for pressure points.
For pistol i guess oil is more suitable as grease would definitely slow down the mechanism.

A general rule of thumb is to oil the fast moving parts and grease the parts which experience high pressure but slow movement. Ever wonder why vehicle engines are lubricated with motor oil whereas Constant Velocity Joints (C.V. Joints) are greased?
Lets talk about grease, grease is basically an oil based lubricant suspended in soap. yes! gentlemen, soap, it makes it thick so it doesn't run off (sqeeze out) under pressure. when two surfaces that bear high load move in contact with each other, the pressure can squeeze out the oil away from the load bearing surfaces. with this i'm trying to say is: grease is for slow moving but high load applications only.
one more thing about grease, when mixed with carbon fouling/dirt/gunk, grease turns into a lapping compound that eats away metal. ever seen a worn out C.V. joint?
