Exhibition shooting or trick shooting is a sport in which a marksman performs various feats of skill, frequently using non-traditional targets. Exhibition shooting tends to stress both speed and accuracy, often with elements of danger added.

1) Annie Oakley

http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/3664/77410779.jpg (http://www.postimage.org/)

With the advent rifling came accurate firearms, and many exhibition shooters turned to these, forming the beginnings of western exhibition shooting. The most famous exhibition shooter is Annie Oakley, who toured with Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. While she could shoot well with handguns, rifles, and shotguns, Oakley's preferred firearm was a .22 caliber rifle. Standard tricks of Oakley's included:
Cutting a playing card in half with a rifle bullet at long ranges
Shooting cigarettes in half while they were held by volunteers
Shooting a dime tossed in the air, at range of 90 feet
Shooting long strings of targets tossed in the air; in one instance she hit 4472 out of 5000 in a single day.

2) Fabulous Topperweins
The "Fabulous Topperweins," a husband and wife pair, were exhibition shooters in the early to mid-20th century. Adolf, or "Ad", began shooting as a boy, and held many positions as a professional exhibition shooter. When he married his wife, Elizabeth, later known as "Plinky", she began to shoot, and soon eclipsed her husband's not inconsiderable skills. Together, they worked as professional shooters for Winchester for over 40 years. Common tricks were Plinky shooting cigarettes out of Ad's mouth, or shooting buttons off of his vest. Ad's closing act was to draw an Indian's head on a board with bullet holes.

3)Ed McGivern
Ed McGivern was an exhibition shooter and firearms trainer who specialized in the revolver. He still holds a number of speed shooting records (a number of which have been challenged, and some broken, by modern IPSC champion Jerry Miculek) and was known for shooting aerial targets. Common tricks included:
Throwing a tin can in the air, and firing six shots through it before it hit the ground
Throwing a dime into the air and shooting it
Throwing a playing card into the air, and splitting it with a bullet.

4)Tom Frye
In 1959, champion Tom Frye of Remington Arms Company broke Ad Topperwein's aerial shooting record for shooting 2 1/4 inch cubes of wood thrown in the air. Over a period of 13 9 hour long days, using several Remington Nylon 66 semi-automatic .22 Long Rifle rifles, he hit 100,004 of the 100,010 blocks thrown in the air. Frye's record is disputed because his thrower tossed the blocks in line with the rifle barrel, while Topperwein's thrower tossed the blocks perpendicular to the rifle barrel, thus making Topperwein's shots much more difficult. Also among Frye's accomplishments was a run of 800 straight singles in trap, set in 1963.

5)John Huffer
In 1987, at the age of 50, John "Chief AJ" Huffer shot 40,060 consecutive 2 1/2 inch square pine blocks over a period of 8 days without a single miss, shooting blocks he himself tossed into the air, for 14 hours a day. Huffer accomplished this using 18 .22 Long Rifle Ruger 10/22 rifles, which he cycled through as assistants loaded them for him. Huffer also markets a special "Chief AJ" branded Daisy BB gun, based on a modified model Huffer uses for daily practice, and an instruction manual and video for his style of point shooting.

6)Herb Parsons
Herb Parsons (1908-1959) of Somerville, Tennessee, was Winchester's SHOWMAN SHOOTER for 30 years and was Adolph Topperwein's protégé and successor. His impressive list of honors includes: All-American Trap and Skeet Shooter; twice National and twice International Duck Calling Champion; and inductee to Trapshooting Hall of Fame, Cody Firearms Museum and Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. Parsons is considered by many to be the greatest exhibition shooter of shotguns and rifles in history. His signature feat was throwing by hand and individually breaking seven clay targets with a Winchester Model 12, 12 gauge pump shotgun.

Not at all, its against modern day firing arms safety rules to even pointing a gun barrel towards a person regardless what ever he is smoking :D Miss Oakley is history now, we only know she could shoot a cigarette but don't know how many teeth she knocked off by doing this.

I personally aimed at the shuttlecock while it was in midair (during a badminton session in our lawn played by my brother and my cousin) and pulled the trigger of my air gun.... I think i may have brushed one of its feathers...
and O may be i should also mention that the particular shot also hit our neighbor in the back, when he was cleaning his water tank on his roof...yes...thank God he was not hurt because of low power of the air gun .... but given his reaction i think there was some pain involved...he was a good man he was not angry because he was shot by a little innocent boy, i guess he was angry because earlier shots had passed by and he warned me not to do that again...O boy did Abu went at me that day...well many years have passed by but i never found my passion for exhibition shooting again, for good... Cheers :)!!!

And had she been alive, she would have developed necessary shakiness in her hands to do the task:lol

you know what i am most excited about
competition
im waiting for another Exhibition shooter to come out so i can actually have competition with someone.
its going to be so much more fun that way.
every second week he'll put up a vid with a new trick and then ill try and do that trick. etc etc
anyway
so if anyone does come up or is interested here are the tricks that i have done up till now , and as i tell u all that i'll even give tips on how to actually do exhibition shooting.

the basic Exhibition shooting and the first step to learning this sport is.

Single skeet:
just hold one skeet in your hand throw is high in the air , aim and shoot.
now in the beginnig u might want to use your left hand to throw the skeets while your gun is ready with the muzzle already pointing the sky. if your throwing from your left hand you'll be throwing the skeet virtically (l
From your right hand you'll be throwing the skeet horizontally ----
Now remember
when you've thrown the skeet and aiming
AIM LOWER .
at least 2 inches lower then the skeet. this way you will powder the skeet properly and not just chip it.

Once u get a hang of shooting one skeet try throwing it in different ways
throw it from your back, from over your head , on different hights , etc etc . play around , use your imagination.

then once your one skeet is purfect. pick up two then three then four
i personally have done up till 5 Skeets.

Skeet on the Gun BUTT:
now this is fun
put the skeet on the your shotgun's Butt
swing the gun in a way that the skeet gets thrown in the air and then shoot it.

Gun upside down over the head:
http://s4.postimage.org/P9sxi.jpg (http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=aVP9sxi)

Gun upside dowm from the hips:
http://s2.postimage.org/w4z_r.jpg (http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=Tsw4z_r)

Gun Unloaded:
now this is a fun trick. this trick will really improve your reflexes.
in this you have to keep your gun unloaded and have 1 cartridge in your mouth.
you have to throw one skeet in the air , then load the gun , aim and then powder the skeet.
please remember. safety first . always have the berrel of the gun pointing at the sky or an area where there is no one.

Gun Behind your Back:
http://s1.postimage.org/COsJA.jpg (http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=gxCOsJA)

Gun on the ground:
in this trick you'll have one skeet in your hand and your gun on your foot,
you have to throw the skeet in the air and pull your foot up so that the gun jumps up for u to catch it and then shoot the skeet before it hits the ground.

Now remember
u can even join tricks
like imagin the gun on the ground trick + Gun unloaded.(just thought of it,,i will do it this sunday and u can see it in my videos)

Golf:
oh by the way i am actually a 14 HC Golfer. once i didn't have skeets so i took a few golf balls with me.
then later on i found out Professional Exhibition shooter have actually used Golf balls.
this is not really a new trick but. its exploring and actually about just having fun. shoot your empty shells, vegtabels, fruits , golf or tennes balls, plates , paint cans , anything u can throw in the air. anything entertaining.

Air Ground Air:
this is the latest trick that i just nailed.
its all about fast shooting.
now in this u are holding two skeets in your hand while u have placed another 1 skeet on the ground about 20 feet away from u .
You have to throw the two skeets in the air
hit only one of those 2 skeets that are in the air.
once that one skeet is powderes you have to shoot that one skeet u placed on the ground
after that u have to shoot the 2nd skeet in the air before it hits the ground.
i was so excited when i finally did this trick.
now, the next step of this trick is to just add skeets on the ground
this way you hit 1 air then 2 ground and then the 2nd air... and so on

Well
thats it for now
i cant really think of any other trick that i have done.
i hope i have helped u guys in some way
if there are any questions i would be happy to answer.
and if anyone one has a trick up on thier mind that they would want me to do
please share.
my vids are on youtube where u will find all these tricks being done by me.

Actually no, I would not like to go there as I do not wish to end up in Jail for violating section 144 and no matter how good my ties are with 'guards', I know for a fact that such shooting within city limits in an open area is a recipe for disaster.

Ahmad Sultan has shot 149 out of 150 and is an Olympian and many times record holder of of SAF and National Matches, he has been winning places in World Shooting Championships . I only shot to a very modest level in this event and I sincerely appreciate the greatness of an Olympian calling me as his teacher just because I am senior in age.
May God give you more strength and you win the forth coming Common Wealth and next Olympics.
Young Hamza is enthusiastic but he needs to take a peek out of his well to see there is whole world out there with achievements and skills he can learn if he manages to jump out

Dear Exhibition shooter Hamza,
Assalam-o-Alaiqum,
We all wish you a thrilling entry into the clay shooting scenario specially in ISSF controlled competitions. We are in bad need of Pakistan's representation in Trap and Double Trap events, just go through the list of 143-shooters for today's Trap competition at Lonato,Italy and you will find none from our side.Nevertheless, we all pray for the success of following skeet shooters next week.

Yes the doctored video and careless handling of weapon in one of the video (in which loading of weapon in front of cameraman) As the seniors like honourable Mr. Skeeter 60 & Ahmed Sultan said, join a listed shooting Club to learn the basic handling of the weapon. I suggest you to delete the pics & video in which the weapon handling is not as per the standard safety rules, as this site is public accessible ie the whole world is watching what we are posting here, in last, get an Over Under shot gun and start practice on that gun, as we all know that for Trap & Skeet shootings' competition semi autos are not allowed, don't take these suggestions personally cos we are seeing a upcoming Trap & Skeet shooting champion in you, :) Best of luck for your passion & ambition Hamza...

Now that is a very good start. With a positive attitude like yours Insha Allah you will one day be a top shooter of Pakistan.
When one seriously begins to learn only then one realises how far one has more to go and more and more. Your attitude is very good and you will win laurels one day, just be hungry to learn and practice. Get yourself a 682 Gold E Beretta Trap or Skeet Gun or both and join the Karsaz club . There are world class shooters who will lovingly coach you and with your talent you will catch up fast.
Once again I sincerely admire your positive approach

Excellent sportman's spirit by Hamza and equally great advice from Skeeter sahib.
While planning to purchase 682 Gold E please try to have 76cm full/full barrels which is normal for trap, but you may need a spare optima bore barrel for the same action in 76cm length but with the option of spare chokes.Because all first or under barrel shots for double trap are taken with 1/2 or 3/4 chokes.
Apart from that you may experiment to put a high rib on your existing barrel for DT while raising the comb of stock ,you may engage some carpenter to make one of very light weight wood, paint it dull black and fix it on the rib with electrical tape.
By doing this you will see that base of your cheek bone will have snug fit on the comb without crouching your neck and end up in lifting of face from the comb.Morever you may have POI tested on the pattern plate.Actually one should have option of at least 3-high ribs of varying heights 8mm 16mm and 24mm to start with.

Generally to be successful in any sports and particularly in shooting; you need to have a big heart. With your above post you have proved that you have a lion’s heart. Not everyone can show the attitude that you have shown, I wish you all the best.
