I bought a 7mm B/A on npb 4-5 months back, so its npb. nothing very difficult to solve take your license to a reputable dealer he will tell you.
As far as gov. authorities they are confused over many notifications & circulars, last month I bought a .357 mag revolver & it took me a whole week to get it registered at DCO office as they have pile of notifications & circulars which are so confusing that I had to make a call to Elahi Bukhsh lahore so DCO's PA can talk to them, Elahi Buksh people guided them to latest circular then I had my revolver registered on the license.
Moral of the story, the people in arms business are more aware then the office bearers so trust them.

Yeah.. For a buyer it may be just a gun. but for the dealer its his whole livelihood.

I have noticed that most reputable dealers wont sell a product til they are sure of its status

according to daudson armoury, rwp 7mm is pb caliber wheather a bolt action or semi. because action doesnt matter, all depends upon caliber.

In Sindh, only semiauto centrefire rifles are prohibited. Otherwise all else is allowed. People in DCO office and Home deptt only misguide civilians to make money. Go there with friend in uniform and see how there attitude changes.

This topic has already been discussed! "THOROUGHLY" :) Information & Knowledge levels of members were challenged as well :)) The mystery of NPB & PB in terms of rifles is based on the licences issued by MOI and that issued by provincial government! Ministry Of Interior considers any calibre (OF RIFLES) above .22 (Bolt Action) as a PB!!! And for the issuance of licence there is a set proceadure where earlier Prime minister's senction was required but later it was transfered to Interior Minister! On the other hand provincial governments i.e. Sind, Punjab & N.W.F.P. do not consider rifles as a PB but licence I beleive restricts you to carry the weapon from one province to the other! Charm of the licence issued by MOI is the permission to carry the weapon all over Pakistan. It is my knowledge so far ;) Now, this is the reason....whenever members from Capital or rawalpindi give their comments they confirm such rifles as a PB & those from Sind always take it as a NPB. I always say we have different experiences and this forum is meant to provide us a platform to share it. In earlier discussion couple of members got confused and instead of realizing the nature/base of information, started challenging the source of information and knowledge levels of each other :) That's little absurd I believe! Sharing the experience means asking more details politely and there is nothing wrong in giving details :|

Accoding to MOI Auth, all type of Rifles are P Bore execpt .22 rifle. No dealer is auth to sell a P bore rifle. Two options: 1- From licence to licence thr DCO/DC office (2) Gift by Maliks thr PA

In summary, the extract of the above discussion can be:
FOR RIFLES
1. MOI licenses allow ONLY .22 bolt-actions as NPB & the rest calibers & actions as PB.
2. Sindh Govt. allows all calibers in bolt-action as NPB and semi-auto & auto actions as PB.
3. Pujab Govt. allows ONLY .22 caliber in bolt-action & semi-auto as NPB and all other calibers as PB regardless of their action.

EXCEPT one unique case as confirmed by Denovo87 from his personal experience.

PB, NPB, Bolt action, semi-auto, fully auto, 222, 223, 5.56, 30 cal, 7.62, 308, 338, 7mm, 8mm 270, 22-250, 243 and so on. These discussions here remind me of a theoretical physics conference. A bunch of brilliant academics with excellent bookish knowledge hypothesising on the basis of assumptions and limited practical knowledge.

Those who have centrefire rifles, and know how and where to get them from, and get them entered by DCO etc, get them. But those who don't, well... remind me of theoretical physicists.

So while you guys discuss what's prohibited and whats not, I'm off for a bit of centerfire fun!! ;)

In Pakistan, even a knife blade above 4 inches is Prohibited. In Sindh, by law, only semiauto rifles are prohibited that is it. All calibres are allowed in single-shot, and bolt-action.

All bolt actiion rifles regardless of caliber fall under NPB. That's what the memo from home office says.

Lovely Khan bhai, BP is the abreviation of a punjabi world can't write here for its PB nature but its sure you don't have to have a license for that but consequences of a BP can put some one in very serious/bad situation.
